Some books are just screaming to be made into movies, and this is one of them.  Not that it isn’t a good read.  It definitely is, but the Cape Town, South Africa setting, the cast of characters and the high action level would lend themselves perfectly to the big screen as well.

Jack Burn is hiding out after a bank robbery gone bad back in the U.S..  He’s fled with his wife and young son, and she’s not particularly happy about the situation.  For a bank robber, Burn isn’t all that terrible of a guy, but his gambling habit led him to become involved with some people he would have been better off not knowing.  He should have chosen his friends more carefully.  One dead cop later, Jack’s in a lot of trouble, and it follows him wherever he goes.  Some guys just can’t get a break.

My advice to readers is to make some popcorn and read this novel.  To the author:  see if you can’t get in touch with Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise.
